At the Y, strengthening the community is our cause. The Kansas State Alliance of YMCAs represents the interests and concerns of 10 independent YMCA associations with 29 branches throughout the Sunflower State serving 530,000 Kansans. We are a nonprofit, grassroots-driven organization that advocates and educates on behalf of the YMCA and its mission to promote youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We work to build healthy spirit, mind and body for ALL, regardless of ability to pay.
The Alliance monitors legislative and regulatory issues and educates policymakers on the status of the communities we serve and the programs and services we provide. As each individual YMCA branch in Kansas is a powerful advocate for the needs of the children, families and individuals in communities throughout the state, the Kansas State Alliance of YMCAs works to foster statewide communication and cooperation among Ys, thus increasing our reach and impact.
